Welcome to Uttaranchal 360

Hi welcome to Uttarakhand, known as Dev Bhoomi, a place of god.
Uttarakhand is the state situated in the nothern part of India. Known for its natural beauty, it was carved out of Himalayan and adjoining districts of Uttar Pradesh on 9 November 2000, becoming the 27th state of Republic of India. It borders China (Tibet) on the north, Nepal on the east and Indian states of Uttar Pradesh to the south, Haryana to the west and Himanchal Pradesh to the north west.
The region is traditionally referred to as Uttarakhanda in hindu scriptures and old literature, a term which derives from sanskrit uttara meaning north and khanda meaning country or a part of country. It has an area of 20,682 sqm (53,566 sqkm).
In January 27, 2007 the name of the state officially changed from Uttaranchal, its intrim name, to Uttarakhand. The provisional capital of Uttarakhand is Dehradun, which is also the rail head and largest city of Uttarakhand. The High Court of the state is in Nainital.
